Women and Wit at LCC
5.5.15
Really good whole day to kick off Val William's 'Moose on the Loose 2015' at LCC (London College of Communication).
Firecrackers: 'Women and Wit' in photography panel discussion - Fioner Rogers of Firecracker, Max Houghton, Brigitte Lardinois, Natasha Caruana, Anna Fox, Gemma Marmalade, Eleanor McNair.
This came after a screening of Finding Vivian Maier. Always interests me that her being almost certainly autistic, is never mentioned. To me, 'the mystery' of Vivian Maier is no real mystery at all. An extraordinary talent.
Firecracker - 'Featured Photographer"
1.5.15
Very happy to be Featured Photographer for the whole of May on Fiona Roger's (Magnum) Firecracker - "Supporting European Women Photographers". Thank you Fiona and thank you to Max Houghton too.

Newport!
19.3.15
Great day today at legendary photography course at Newport.
Half hour one to one's with four really interesting students in the morning and gave a lecture to about 80 in the afternoon. Loved it all!
Thank you Magali Nougarede and Paul Reas.
I think the New Year can start now...
6.3.15.
Well, the X-ray, CT etc revealed a very nasty case of double pneumonia and what I thought was going to be a quick couple of hours visit, turned into a 2 week stay in Derriford Hospital with IV antibiotics, oxygen, the whole nine yards... and a very long recovery at home. Only really OK this week....
But... whilst recuperating, a few intersting things have happened.
- I've been asked to talk at Critical Voices in June... "connecting people, ideas, arts, medicine, health"... a really fascinating 'festival' in its second year.

- I've been invited to talk at Newport (University of South Wales) on 19th March. Thank you Magali Nougarede.
- Fiona Rogers at Firecracker http://www.fire-cracker.org wants to feature Understanding Stanley in the June slot. So happy about this. Firecracker is a platform dedicated to supporting european women photographers.
- Had a meeting last Thursday at the National Autistic Society about putting on a big public photo exhibition about autism. Five photographers.
- And yesterday via Skype I spent a couple of hours chatting to some wonderfully bright and interesting MA philosophy students from the University of Utrecht in Holland who have used Understanding Stanley as the basis for a research project.
So... as Martin always says... "do interesting things and interesting things happen"...
Thank you Stanley.
